Houston Wedding Photography: A sneak peek of my week

In addition to my busy wedding schedule this summer, I've had Madeline's 1st birthday party to plan, and the Bridal Extravaganza show that was a little over a week ago! Thanks to everyone that took the time to stop by my booth and chat with me. I know the show is huge and a little overwhelming for some, so to take the time to stop by really means alot! I've got a GREAT bridal show special going on. If you didn't have a chance to meet me at the show, shoot me an email and I'll send you some information!

Rather than leave ya'll hanging, I always figure it's best to share with you some glimpses into my shoots. I know I've got a ton of stuff I've been holding back. I need to have a blog day where I just blog all the great things I've gotten to photograph the past few months. Happy 1st Birthday, Madeline!

I've made it through one year of motherhood! It may sound like something you hear often, but it's so true - it's been the most wonderful year of mine and Edmond's lives. It's a little after midnight. Edmond and I sang Happy Birthday to Madeline as she slept in her crib. As I watch my little angel dream away, I can't help but wonder what I did in a past life to deserve such a gift. When I'm around Madeline or even think about her, it's like there's an unbreakable line around my heart, and she's the one always tugging at it - letting me know she's forever my baby girl.

I think I became a photographer because I love the way one moment in time could make you feel just by looking at it. It's amazing how a single image can take you back to everything. This is Madeline's very first picture. My first moment with her. The first time I held her. The first time I saw her. One single image.

Of course what's a 1st birthday without a 1st birthday party? I couldn't find anything that I liked when searching for invitations for Maddy's party, so I designed one myself! My family kept complaining that they don't have any pictures of Madeline, just what they see on the Internet. I think I made them happy when they got this in the mail :)

Houston Wedding Photography: Love Lee nominated for Houston's Best 2010!

"Whoa!" That's exactly what I thought when I got an email last week saying that I had been nominated for KPRC Click2Houston's Best 2010 - Wedding Photographer! I still can't believe it! Voting started yesterday and already my family has been campaigning for me to win. As important as their opinions are to me, I'd still like to know what you, my blog readers, think. Am I worthy of Houston's Best? If you think so, first off let me say, "Really? No way!" Thank you soooo much from the bottom of my heart! Houston Photobooth - Fotorazzi by Love Lee and Casa de Camera

Several weeks ago I "tweeted" about a big project I've been working on. Well I'm happy to announce to you a joint venture between me, Love Lee Photography, and Casa de Camera called Fotorazzi! It's a photobooth, but not just any photobooth! Lots of blood, sweat and tears went into creating and building it. Of course, I'd say 99% sweat with this Houston heat. Anyway, we knew when we started off with this project, we wanted it to be something different. At one point we even thought of the tagline, "Not your mama's photobooth." We quickly scrapped that, but you get the idea, right?

So what's different about ours? Well as wedding photographers, we've seen lots of photobooths out there. We wanted our booth to produce great prints - not low quality ink jet printer type prints that smear or look off color . We wanted our booth to produce the prints quickly, something that cheap printers just cannot do. Ours is equipped with a state of the art printer. We also wanted it to be interactive, meaning, the user chooses from several options on a magnificent touch screen monitor. Most of all, we wanted the experience to be unique. How have we done this? Well anyone that books our booth has the option of custom graphics and logos on their print. I mean CUSTOM - not just a pretty font with your name and event date.

I'm so excited to finally share this with you! Our first event was The Greenbriar Girls open house a few weeks ago. We were so nervous, but in the end we had nothing to worry about. It was a hit! I still crack up a bit when I look at some of the images. The Fotorazzi Booth is a really great addition to any event. Your guests will love it and feel like celebrities in front of the camera! Houston Wedding Photography: More Summer Glimpses

Last week was another busy one. In fact, the rest of my year is going to be packed with sooo many cool events! But I have no complaints. One thing I love about what I do is hanging out with my clients. Seriously! If we hit it off during a consultation, more than likely, our personalities have clicked and every time we get together for a shoot or even just a meeting, we have so much fun! Doesn't matter if it's an engagement session, a bridal session, boudoir or the wedding. At the end I always wish it didn't have to end. Here are a few more sneak peeks of some fun times I got to capture recently.

Last week, I had an engagement session in Galveston. I took it as an opportunity to bring my baby girl to the beach for her first time. Madeline is a water baby and she was definitely meant to be born smack dab in the middle of summer. She loves taking a bath, she loves swimming in the pool, and I've discovered that she LOVES the beach. The waves make her giggle and she constantly tries to crawl towards the ocean. Here she is enjoying her first beach visit.

It's summer time in Houston which means it's HOT! But the heat does not mean that the pictures must stop! I'm having so much fun this year with all the things I get to photograph. Here's another sneak peek for you to show you what I've been up to the past few weeks.

I know you haven't seen Maddy in a while so here she is. Yes you're seeing correctly...she's got a mouth full of teeth coming in! She knows they're there too. She likes to grind her teeth, chew on furniture, and bite...especially bite me!

Melissa and Derek had a rockin' wedding at the Majestic Metro in downtown Houston. I know I said rockin', but it's with good reason! They had a Beatles tribute band as their entertainment! I remember how hard it was to concentrate because I wanted to sing and dance on every song! One thing I loved about Melissa and Derek is that they loved to party :) It was so great watching them have a fun and fantastic time, and that's how weddings should always be - fun and fantastic!

I hope you're ready to meet a really sweet and fun couple! This is Erin and Kevin. We met up in downtown Houston for their engagements on a day of perfect weather in Houston. Very rare. It was one of those sessions where they showed up, I showed up, we were thinking we'd shoot some pictures for an hour. We ended up hanging out for a couple of hours and we had so much fun! Enjoy!

I left Texas on Sunday and headed west to California with my family. I got a chance to attend a really great workshop (The Style Lab) and take the family to our first trip to Disneyland. I wanted to post some sneak peeks of what I've been up to since before I left for California! As you can see, with all the sneak peeks I've been posting, I got a lot of blogging to catch up on!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Here's an image of my mother and Madeline from a family party. Gosh I love them so much! My mom is one of the strongest, bravest, most generous women I know. I know for a fact that I wouldn't be the woman or mother I am today without her influence. My mom has this thing about her that makes you either love her a lot, or love her a little less (just a little)...she has no filter. Literally! Sometimes I think it just comes with the territory of being Filipino. LOL! She says what's on her mind which can crack you up one moment and make you feel like dirt the next. But you know, I wouldn't change a thing about her!

When Madeline was born, I said to my mother, "Now I know how much you love me, Mom." I've always known my mom loves me, but I never understood how powerful that love was until I became a mother myself. So here I am, celebrating my first mother's day. It's a crazy feeling being a mom. You go from feeling so happy that you have this precious life you're responsible for, to feeling terrified that you have this precious life you're responsible for! And it's life. It's my life. Being Mommy to my Maddy. I must have done something right in a past life to deserve such a blessing :)

So if you aren't doing anything on Wednesday, May 26, between the hours of 6PM and 9PM, I would absolutely, totally, completely, and utterly be delighted if you would join me, along with the ladies of TwoBeWed, Casa de Camera and Studio B Images, for our open house party! Everyone is welcome :)

It was almost three years ago that I joined with TwoBeWed. I loved the idea of having a comfortable and peaceful environment, totally dedicated to weddings, where I could meet with my clients. The best part, we're like a little family at our new house. We're this great community of women, running our own businesses, taking care of our families, and still making time to enjoy life :) It was sad to leave our old location, but as soon as I saw our new place, I knew we were home! It's our little house in the city and we'd LOVE for you to drop by :)

The past week Madeline has been going through her first cold and cough. It's so hard to watch your baby when she's feeling miserable. At her age, you can't give her any medicine (although with all the medicine recalls I don't know if I'd want to anyway). All you can do is keep baby comfortable and just ride it out. Here she is, staring up at me. When she looks at me like this, I always want to sweep her up into my arms and hug her, kiss her cheeks, and smell her face!

I don't think that there's really one wedding season in Houston. Sometimes the whole year feels like one big wedding season. I'll say that it's definitely spring wedding season and summer's season is just around the corner! I've been super busy and for those of you who take the time to follow my blog, first I'd like to say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Second, instead of posting an entire event right now (because it's about 3AM and I just finished working on some stuff) I thought I'd put together a handful of sneak peeks.

The past month or two, I've had something of everything on my calendar lately - weddings, babies, boudoir, bridals. Here's just a sprinkling of some Love Lee Photography. Enjoy :)

There's a Filipino tradition (at least in my Filipino family) to have a roasted pig at extra special family occasions. Madeline's baptism counted as one of them. My brothers and I all have pictures just like this one from when we were babies. I wish I had them with me so I could post them! Here's Maddy's first "lechon" picture for our family collection.

I know my friends and family that see this are thinking, "Has it been 4 years?" Yes, it has. Four years ago today I married the love of my life, Edmond. We were both the first children of our parents to get married, so it was a big deal. In other words, GINORMOUS Asian wedding. A lot of planning went into it. Just like many brides, I spent countless hours deciding on details, meeting vendors, shopping for THE dress, surfing websites, even making a trip to the Philippines with my mom for wedding stuff. My mother-in-law also went to China for even more wedding stuff!

I remember immediately after the ceremony, Edmond and I walked up the aisle and went into a small room, just the two of us. No wedding party, no family, no photographers, no videographers, no one. Just us. We looked at each other and I said, "husband." He said, "wife." Those first few moments as husband and wife are one of the most precious and important memories of my life. After that, it seemed like an endless night of celebrating and partying that went by like a blur!

Anyway, I can go on and on about my wedding, because that's what past, present, and future brides do! LOL! I just want to take a moment to tell you, Edmond, that I love you. I love our baby. I love the life we've built together. Happy Anniversary!

And here we are now...The Lee's :)
