Kandi and John drove in from Oklahoma and their family drove in from Louisiana. I came in from Sugarland to meet everyone in Galveston. It was a great day, a little overcast, but nice and breezy and most importantly, not hot! Kandi and John are having a beach wedding next summer in Galveston and decided to have their engagement shoot at the beach. They brought along their family the weekend I met up with them. We did a mini family shoot and then a fun and playful engagement shoot by their beach house. Enjoy!

Of course before I go, here's a picture of my baby girl, Madeline. Doesn't she look like a doll when she's sleeping?

Shaina and Doug had a sweet and romantic wedding at the Rockefeller Hall. I think it's cool that Doug's groom's cake was made to look like a tub of popcorn. In fact at the end of the night, they had a real popcorn machine brought out and passed out bags of it to their guests. Boy did it smell super good in that hall after I left. But my time with them wasn't over! Instead of shooting an exit the night of the wedding, Shaina and Doug had me meet them at Shaina's mom's house. Her mom was hosting a yummy brunch for the newlyweds before they caught a flight for their honeymoon. It's like the party never ended! Here are a couple images as well as a short slideshow of their weekend. Enjoy!

I was about 34 weeks pregnant when I shot Marci and Stephen's wedding, but as big and swollen as I was, it didn't stop me from having such a great time! When I arrived at both the church and the reception, you can totally tell that Marci had put a lot of thought into how she wanted her day to be. There were gorgeous centerpieces, beautiful candles, and flowers everywhere - on the tables and hanging from the ceiling! They even had a fun photobooth for their guests. It was a great night and I'm so happy for Marci and Stephen. Enjoy!

But before I go, here's a picture of my little angel taking a nap. Doesn't she look like she fell asleep saying her prayers :)

September 4, 2009 // personal / weddings
I'm back! I slowly started easing out of my maternity leave the past week and I'm glad to be back to work. In between the birth of my daughter and now I managed to shoot a wedding. Don't ask me how I did it, I just did and it was 4 weeks after she was born. But I'm glad I did, because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten this cute shoe shot!

On another note, I spent part of the evening getting wood floor estimates for my new studio. That's right! I've come across a great space that I hope to have ready asap for Love Lee Boudoir. I've got some exciting things planned too :)

Finally I'm gonna post a pic of my Madeline since she's on my left arm while I type with my right. I think this is her way of saying "I got my eye on you!"

***UPDATE*** CLASS CANCELLED DUE TO FIRE *** WILL RESCHEDULE *********

Hi Ladies,

I am so sorry to have to email you this news. The Style and Design Class has been canceled due to a fire that started at Aztec Events and Tents this morning at 5am. Thankfully and most importantly, no one was injured and the fire was mostly contained by the sprinkler system and the HFD. The room where the class would have been held has water damage and soot from the fire.

Aztec is a resilient company and will continue business as usual from their other showroom and out of a temporary office nearby the showroom.

We spent half the day yesterday preparing for the class and setting up the room....it looked amazing!! We have had such a strong response to this class and sold out of all our spots. We will reschedule as soon as Aztec can assess their showroom damage. We appreciate your enthusiasm about the class and promise to deliver a fabulous Style and Design Class soon! All of those who were confirmed for this class will have a seat reserved for the rescheduled class. Please confirm that you received this email and pass the information along to those who planned to join you.

Thank you for your understanding! Have a great weekend!

Best,

Natalie

If you've ever had the chance to meet with me, you know that I'm a member at TwoBeWed. It's where I keep samples of my albums and have a wall of gallery canvas prints for you to go in and see anytime. I like it because it's a way for you to see finished products and samples of weddings I've shot from beginning to end. It's also where I meet with couples for consultations. TwoBeWed is a really great place for brides to visit. It's run by a wonderful group of women who are also wedding consultants and all vendors who are members there had to go through an interview process to ensure the quality of our work. If you ever get a chance, stop by and visit the studio! They host great classes and events for brides. Think of the place as a true one-stop-shop for planning your wedding.

In fact, I just got an email that I wanted to share with you. TwoBeWed is hosting this fun event - Style and Design class on August 29, 2009 from 11:30 - 1PM. If you're free, I highly recommend checking it out. I have no doubt you'll leave with a wealth of ideas and information!
